I'm at the edge of the bell curve. I am the joker card.
I like looking into big historical waves and how I and others fit into them.
But also subtle small nuances interest me.
I guess you could say that both the physical and the psychic ecology of the planet interests me.
I have traveled quite a bit. Most of the planet except Africa and South America. But even in those areas I have set foot a little.
First as a tourist, then as a scholar, finally as a pilgrim. Yet save for one short business trip to Colombia two years ago. I have not left California since 1998.
I graduated from UC Berkeley and learned quite a lot there, but was surprised by how much more I learned about life...
....AFTER I left.
I'm now mostly doing stuff in cyber-space. internet-video interests me quite a bit. I see the future there.
I have a subtle wit.
I'm good at getting people FAST.
Often all that is needed is a single photograph.
I like doing yoga.
Long walks.
I am looking for a multi-plex kind of gal and if I like what I see, I'll scribble many keen poems about you because you're obviously very special to me.
You will level-hop and see things from multiple angles.
This is more than cool.
This makes you hot and irresistible.
Your humor is dry and measured, but also absurd and relentless at certain moments.
Your taste is quite refined, but not necessarily in outer and material stuff. Though that too could easily be there.
Good looks and education are important, but emotional intelligence and common sense count for a whole lot more.
You are a woman who appreciates her many levels of mind and wishes not to ruin them, but to strengthen them.
Especially in weird and difficult global times like these.
What I'm saying is that you have raw courage to get what you want.
Simple and hard.
I have learned that the BIGGEST rewards from life come from savvy risk taking.
This faith is based on direct experience.
It's not blind.
It's also not as intimidating as it sounds.
Actually it's pretty cool.
OH, AND I WILL NOT RESPOND TO WINKS
My Ideal Person:
In the west there is a lot of talk about physical attraction and chemistry. I guess that's important, but what's more important is the karmic connections people have with each other.
What their samskaras are between them.
That's Sanskrit for the psychic momentum and accumulation a person and a couple have through multiple lives.
Not a radical concept in the east, but still something poorly understood in our culture.
Um, that's about it.
Read my blog....
M
The last great book I read Joyce, Salinger, Kerouac. All the classics read twenty years ago. But Zogby's " The Way We'll Be " I found interesting a few weeks ago. But I read mostly blogs now to keep up with stuff. I think Campbell's " The power of Myth " is crucial. Also Toynbee's works on religion and civilization. Bloom on the Western Canon. Mircea Eliade on comparative religion.
Scifi stuff like Clarke, Lem and Dick.
I also like poetry. G.M. Hopkins, Plath, E.E. Cummings, Dylan Thomas, Whitman. Dickenson. Hart Crane. Wallace Stevens. T.S. Eliot. Allen Ginsberg
